Signs a 2yr deal to become the new Hemel Hempstead manager

Becoming the Sam Allardyce of the NLS - whatever caused the abrupt departure from us is obviously not a dealbreaker anywhere else. If Taunton win tonight or Thursday Hemel will need a result against them on the Saturday to stay up. Even if they lose tonight Torquay should get a win v Havant on Saturday. If Taunton expend a lot of effort tonight (which they will) and lose I think they will be too knackered/deflated to get the 6 points they will need from Thursday (WSM) and Saturday. An Eastbourne defeat at WSM tonight would leave them sweating as they have Braintree on Saturday. Hope they stay up but I think Taunton will go. Their GD is the worst of the teams still in it too.

Well let’s hope they stay up. It will be good to play them next season. No doubt there will be a few old terras players in a Hemel strip, that is those that he says love him…. and what’s more …… they’ll be really hard to beat. Looking forward to next season already even if it will be uncomfortable sitting on a fence for that long. COYT.

Ben Gerring clearly still isn’t BW’s biggest fan judging by his comments on the Hemel page!!

If Taunton win tomorrow and beat Hemel at the weekend Bobby could find himself managing a Southern League side again.

All the best to him.
Don't know the real reason why he left so no reason to judge him on anything but his time as a manager. He clearly loved himself and was a bit marmite from what I've seen and heard.
Worked a miracle keeping us up last season, one I will always remember along with the Matty Bound piledriver championship to the Conference and the Molesley successive promotions.
Odds on he gets one over us next season. 🤣

Interesting wording considering they sacked their previous on March 2nd... “Following a thorough recruitment process, Bobby emerged as the standout candidate, boasting a wealth of experience and a proven track record wherever he has gone. Following this process, Bobby has agreed to come in earlier than planned so he can get to work immediately, based on the current scenario.
“Given Bobby's undeniable qualities and the urgent need for stability, the club has made the decision to appoint him now, allowing him and his management team time to secure our safety this season and prepare thoroughly for the next season.”

His management team don't have much time to turn things around, they only have one match left, and if Taunton don't beat Weston on Thursday then they are safe any way.

Ben Gerring clearly still isn’t BW’s biggest fan judging by his comments on the Hemel page!! I know for a fact Ben is not a fan of Bobby as have spoken to him at length over the last few weeks as recently purchased a car from his business. Ben was treated very harshly by Bobby, spoke to him sometimes like he was a piece of s*** on his shoe. Will be very surprised if any players follow him to Hemel from us.

His management team don't have much time to turn things around, they only have one match left, and if Taunton don't beat Weston on Thursday then they are safe any way. I was more referring to the fact that from their wording it might be construed that they were considering Bobby while he was still employed elsewhere? Just a thought.

All very interesting. Regarding player movement, we all know there are quite a few comings and goings. I know we changed training location to the Southampton area to cater for players who live around the London area so how many does that apply to either non contracted or coming to the end of their contract in June?
We can hardly afford to have our better players tempted away and i am sure MM and the board will do their utmost to retain players that are good enough and fit the MM playing style.
Lets hope that connection we had with Bournemouth can be rekindled as they supplied us with some very decent loanees.
Looking forward to the Hemel post match interviews if they do such a thing.

In the training videos over the last few months, I don't think we have been at stoneham, it certainly doesn’t look like it as I literally live a short distance from there

It’s quite interesting how we all think differently about players, managers and the future. One of the things that BW was criticised for by quite a few fans was the number of loanees he relied on yet some fans are now calling for MM to rekindle the Bournemouth factor and get some players in on loan. It’s a funny old world

We need to tie the players we want to keep on contracts. Bobby will know everything on our current squad. That`s from what they get paid and if they have a contract and were they travel from.

It’s a funny old world I think there was more than a hint of the 'he's got a pair of boots, give 'im' a game' mentality in the recent past. I'd like to think that will be replaced by a more considered approach going forward.
