It’s quite interesting how we all think differently about players, managers and the future. One of the things that BW was criticised for by quite a few fans was the number of loanees he relied on yet some fans are now calling for MM to rekindle the Bournemouth factor and get some players in on loan. It’s a funny old world I think if there’s a chance of a link up with Bournemouth to enable us to bring young players in on loan, that’s a PLAN. In my opinion, where Bobby fell down was coming out at the start of the season and stating he didn’t like to use the loan market, then having to do exactly that when his scattergun approach of signing numerous players from lower leagues during the summer failed miserably.

Bobbby did however keep us up within a meagre budget during a consolidation season. He helped correct a financial black hole with his recruitment.
We can aspire to kick on from a position of relative financial comfort
His recruitment was indeed a bit scattergun but there are some of his players that I would dearly like to see pull on a Terra's shirt next season. Let's be honest which of us put bets on us being champions, reaching the playoffs or even being top half? ( I bet on top half because I am daft )
Job done really, I didn't realistically expect much else, but I hope to watch a style of football that is easier on the eye next season. That and any buzz from success should help grow the gates.
Time will tell.

My impression of BW was a bit like a horse chasing the cart.. even if it did catch it … it wouldn’t know what do next …

I'm not sure that relative financial comfort means that there will be much of an increase in the playing budget. Aspiration to kick on is certainly desirable though and hopefully this can be achieved by retaining some of our better players for continuity's sake. Always a tricky one regarding recruitment. I'm not sure, but I think most of Bobby's initial players were on contracts which meant that if they didn't impress, they went out on loan. It wasn't always easy to get rid of dead wood. Whether MM goes via the contract or non contract route remains to be seen. I think most teams use loan players throughout the season these days, especially those of us who are relatively cash strapped. Personally, I hope that MM builds a team that although primarily designed to play attractive football, also has the pace and physicality to dig in and battle a team of monsters on a muddy February field.

Hemel are safe after Taunton lose to WSM tonight, so Bobby will be back next season.
