EFL and National league have announced that Gateshead will not be allowed to participate in the playoffs due to failing EFL entry criteria.
Gateshead needed a 10 year security of tenure at their stadiums, which was applied for and rejected by Gateshead Council!
Solihull Moors progress to the next round without having to kick a ball.
Gutting for the Gateshead players and fans! I wonder they will fare next season if the issue isn’t resolved?

Gutting for the Gateshead players and fans! I wonder they will fare next season if the issue isn’t resolved? The National League have had a nightmare here. Without referring to their own rules they initially said it was Solihull who would receive a bye. However, now they’ve woken up and read the rules, it appears it’s Altrincham who get the bye and will play Bromley in the semi. What a mucking fuddle they’ve got themselves in to!

Also has a knock on effect for Halifax who now have to travel to Solihull instead of Altrincham
A complete farce!!

I’m kinda wanting Alty to get through. All those years of rivalry in the top tier of non-league football, with them being the Alpha team Up North, and us Down South. A bit of retribution after 40 years maybe?

So in the space of a few hours Solihull have gone from arranging travel Gateshead on Tuesday to arranging travel to Barnet instead next weekend to now arranging a home match with Halifax on Tuesday night.
Farce doesn't come close!
